Bonnie let me know of Gordon's celebration of life in Port Dover. I will not be able to attend. Condolences go out to all of Gord's families. I lost contact with Gordon when he went to Hamilton. Before that we were next door neighbours on the 9th . After I had a place of my own that I was fixing, I contacted Gordon about some gravel. What did I need that for? I told him I was pouring hand mixed concrete below the original footings to make a basement instead of a crawl space. He said he had the right blend for the job. So he brought the gravel mixture as I needed it.
Again condolences to all.

So sorry to hear of the passing of our cousin Gordon. As his sister Audrey correctly posted our childhood life revolved around our many cousins. Although as adults our path rarely crossed, mainly gatherings arranged by our "cousin Mother Carolyn". Did enjoy the "cool one" at the last gathering, thx. Keep the fridge on Gord.
To Gordons close family and friends, please accept my deepest condolences.

First I want to offer my sincere condolences to all of Gord’s family and friends.
Gord and I became friends when we started high school away back whenever.
Our lives crossed many times over the years
and we worked together at different times driving trucks and socializing.
We weren’t what you call close friends but we had respect for one another.
Many good gatherings after work at Kincardine Construction.
I haven’t seen much of Gord since he moved to Hamilton but I like to think our friendship remained.
I know he will be missed by many, many people and the world will suffer a great loss.
I see a bright red truck with his name on the door in Hamilton and it brings back good memories.

We had so many good times with Gord and Katrina. July 1, one year we ran into Lori Fay after the parade, one of the first times he met her. She decided his name was Charlie. So many memories and good times. You made my friend very happy. Every fall we had a date to get our corn for our squirrels. One St Paddy day, Katrina and Rick went to see Van Halen and Gord and I got to hang out. I learnt a very important lesson, I could not drink with Gord. I was sick for two days. You will be missed and loved by many. Love you Gordo

Gord was one of my very favourite people from the day we met in an arena about 23 years ago while I skated with the synchro girls and Kat. He was so many things to our team but also to me personally. For our team he was the resident music man, he got us "warmed up" at any competition, he drove us or something we forgot at times and carried anything we asked. At times he was a handler for a team member, usually me but always the hero for us.He adored us and we adored him. My favorite Gord skating memory is when he joined us in hallway gymnastics and chair races..I still have the scar or when we got our nickname of the sh!thawks and the boys all stood up Gord included cawing and flapping their wings when we got on the ice..Personally he gave the best advice, called a spade a spade and would tell anyone what he thought of them. He became my left arm man when we walked home because we both had a bit of a limp so only one way worked. I didn't know he couldn't swim until about 3 years ago....I wondered why he would never come in the lake. We traveled to many places and had great experiences in different countries drinking in the back of every bus we got on. I will miss everything about Gord...except maybe his epic falls and broken bones that I was always involved somehow in....Gord took Kat and I to Charlotte right after I had gone through a tough life change......he always did the best thing needed at the right time. He was so generous and kind. I will miss him at every Thursday night before a Friday the 13th the most. And the times he or iI would get the other into a good jag and the night that ensued.
Love ya Gord,
I will bring the whiskey next time I see ya...XOXO
Linds

I grew up with brother Gord on our farm in Kincardine Township in a close knit family where many of our early playmates were our more than 30 first cousins who all lived within 10 miles of each other on farms. So many memories, Except in busy planting and harvest seasons, most Sundays were a day of rest, spent at Kingarf Church and then lunch and playing for the afternoon at one of my aunts and uncles .Although nonone had much money, we had loads of delicious home cooked food and plenty of exercise and fun with our cousins. It was a good life where Gord and the rest our our familt developed our strong work ethic. Chores were just part of life.
Gord is the reason my last three vehicles have been buicks--I relied on his advice when buying my vehicle on my own back in 2005.Gord is also the reason I attended my one and only Port Dover Friday the 13th Biker Rally and as ever was treated to Gord's generosity of free food and beer.
Gord will be missed so much whenever our family meets again!
