Obituary of Rosemary Murphy
MURPHY, Rosemary (nee Howell) of Port Dover passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in her 89th year. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Murphy, in 2000. Dearly loved mother of Kevin, Michael (Brenda), and Patrick. Loving grandmother of Ryan (Danyl), Josh (Roseanne), Kaitlyn (Jeff), and Winnifred (Matthew), Morgan (Brooke)and great-grandmother of Cooper, Kennedy, Irelynn, MacKenzie, Lily, Jocelyn, Daxon, Micheal, Mia, and Zach. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Margo Heaman (Chuck), Katie Buck, Mary Ellen Dupon, Brian Dupon, John, and Joan Murphy. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Winnifred Howell, brother Keith, sister Carol Kelly, sister-in-law Liz Howden, and brother-in-law Jim Murphy. Rosemary was an active and dedicated member of the Port Dover community; she was co-chair on the committee that built the fisherman's memorial, volunteered for many years at the Lighthouse Theatre, served on the executive of the Port Dover Lakers hockey team, a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and received the honour of Citizen of the year with Dorothy Hoskins in 2000. Rosemary had a wide circle of friends that will sadly miss her. Her career took her to many different companies, starting at the Hagersville Army Camp, Kolbe Fish Company, Norfolk Knitters, Simcoe Leaf, and the Compass Rose. A Memorial Service will honour Rosemary's life at St. Paul's Anglican Church (Market and St. George Sts.) Port Dover on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 11 am. Interment Port Dover Cemetery. The Right Reverend Barry Clarke officiant. The service will be live streamed go to St. Paul's Port Dover, pick services then pick live stream.
