Obituary of Cornelia Groeneveld

GROENEVELD, Cornelia (Corrie) - surrounded by the love of her family - passed away peacefully on Monday November 21, 2022 at West Haldimand Hospital in her 96th year.  Predeceased by her husband Willem (Bill).  Dear mother and Oma of Leonard (Beverly) and their daughter Vanessa, Ed and his daughter  Brook (Ryan),  Ann Marie Atkinson(Mark) and their daughters Sarah (Tobias) and Heather (Marcus) and Paul (Carolyn) and their children Jared, Brittney (Jaimie) and Liam. Proud great-grandmother of Brady, Tyson, Roman, Hendrix, Ariana and Reign.  Sadly missed by her step grandchildren Krista and Brooke. Fondly remembered by many family members in Holland and Germany.  Corrie loved her flowers and enjoyed knitting hats, scarves and lap blankets which she donated to the Salvation Army "Stitches of Love".  She also loved to cross stitch, sew and crochet.  Cornelia was a member of the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, Simcoe.  She also served in the Woodhouse Eaves Women’s Institute and as a 4-H leader for many years.   Friends are invited to meet with family to share their memories of Cornelia on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10am to Noon and from 1pm to 2pm. at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave Port Dover. 519-583-1530. A Service of remembrance will be held at 2pm in the funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Sheena Marini will officiate.  For those wishing, donations to the Salvation Army or West Haldimand Hospital would be appreciated.
