Obituary of Gisela Eaton

EATON Gisela (Jill)  (nee Radner) Sunrise May 30, 1942 - Sunset September 23,2022. With heavy hearts we share with you that Gisela passed away on the morning of September 23, 2022 at home, surrounded by family. Beloved wife and soul mate of David for almost 55 years. Cherished mother of Connie Lister (Greg) and Tanya Eaton-Forde. Loving grandmother/Oma to Aaron, Ashley (Darryl) and Trelawny. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Fritz Radner and her grandson Isaiah. She will be lovingly remembered by many other family members and friends. It is said that rather than your date of birth or your date of death, it is the dash in between that is the most important. Jill lived her dash to the fullest. She was born and raised in a little town nestled in the mountains of Bavaria where she would ski to school every day. No matter where else life took her, she remained a mountain girl at heart. At the age of only 18 she made the journey by freighter boat to Canada. She journeyed with little money or knowledge of the English language, but her sense of adventure and ability to form deep connections with others carried her through. She loved to dance, travel, garden, cook and bake, but her true passion was her family. The love and support she gave to others is indescribable. She treated everyone she met with respect and kindness. Those who were lucky enough to have her in their lives were forever changed by her love and friendship. Being near her was like basking in sunshine. Our worlds are all a little darker now and she will be terribly missed. We ask that you remember her for her life rather than her death and spread love and kindness to everyone you meet. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A special thank you to all of the angels in human form who have helped to make the last three years a little lighter:  our support circle of friends, LHIN, the Palliative Nurse Practitioner, CBI Home Health Nursing and all of the PSWs. Your compassion and care made all the difference. Arrangements entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 519-583-1530. For those wishing, donations to the Port Dover Food Bank or other local charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
