Obituary of Alice LEWIS

LEWIS, Alice Lewis, Alice Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home, Port Dover, on Sunday, February 22,2009 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Elmer Lewis. Dearly loved mother of Anne (Carl) Law and Ora (Derry) Powell, all of Port Dover. Proud grandmother of Karen (Dennis) Koluk Kate (Bill) Martin, Chad Law, Neal Law, Staci Richards and Tibor Keleman and Deryc Powell. She will be missed by her great grandchildren Jennifer Law, Alexis Richards, Lewis and Brett Koluk, Curtis Martin and Maitland and Paxton Powell and her sister Jean Blayney, Predeceased by her son Paul (1982), her brothers Fred, Merrill and Harry Blayney and her sisters Helen Blayney and Ruth Stalker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alice and her husband Elmer owned and operated Lewis' Grocery Store from 1929 to 1985. She was a life long member of Grace United Church and the United Church Women. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530. Funeral Services to celebrate Alice's life will be held Wednesday at Grace United Church (Chapman and St. George St.) Port Dover at 1 p.m. with Reverend Murray Rounding officiating Memorial donations to Grace United Church or the Elmer Lewis Parkette would be appreciated by the family.
