Obituary of Marian Emma Parker

PARKER, Marian Emma (nee Lindsay) of Port Dover passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Woodstock Hospital surrounded by the love of her family in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband William in 1993. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Elizabeth (Betty Ann), Sheila and Ron Westover, Darlene and Michael Mitro, Jim and Margaret and Laura. Loving and proud grandmother of Rita and Chad, Michael and Sarah, Michelle and Mike, Christopher and Rebecca, Caitlyn and Kyle, Steven and Brittany, Nathan, Jamie and Taylor, Brianne, step-grandmother to Lauren and Jay, Kristina and Kyle and Grant and Brianna. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Wayne and Mareea, Dalton and Bea, Donna Lindsay, and Ron Clarkson. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her children Rita, Ross, Peggy and Don, and siblings John, Ike, Betty, Doreen, Ron, Larry, David, James and Robert and her parents Harold and Janet Lindsay. Marian was born and raised in Norfolk County, she came from a very large family, she was one of 12 children.   She worked at Buck's Cottages for many, many years alongside her best friend Katie Buck as well as cleaned houses for many Dover families and became friends and family to them all. Marian was a very active member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and St. Paul's Club. She served many years with the Port Dover Lifeline Food Bank. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the world to her and she will be missed every day. Friends are invited to share their memories of Marian at visitation at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover 519-583-1530 on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Vaccine passports plus identification is required for visitation. A private Funeral Service will be held, but will be live streamed on https://www.facebook.com/StPaulsDover/ for anyone wishing to join for the service on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11 am. The Reverend Tony Bouwmeester officiating. Interment Port Dover Cemetery. For those wishing donations to the Port Dover Lifeline Food bank or St. Paul's Anglican Church will be greatly appreciated.
