We will always remember the wonderful times we had together in Cannington. Jim remembers going to Lindsay for a get together where he thought he knew no one. Instead, he saw Jack Dubois (who he knew before) and met Stuart for the first time. He liked Stuart right from the start - his knowlege and humour. Since then, we have had some marvellous times together.
Stuart will be missed and we will treasure these precious moments. Love Lyda and Jim.

Helen:
Our sincere condolences on the recent loss of your beloved Stuart.
We remember Stuart as a kind & gentle man who was indeed an academic but he was also a man who loved to try new and different things in his life. He had a mischievous sense of humour. During conversations Stuart was always involved but then he wouldl lean slightly forward, with that little grin on his face, and come up with a 'zinger', We remember a wonderful evening shared with Stuart and you, Gary & Wendy and the fun we had over dinner chatting about Portugal.
Stuart will be truly missed by many and especially by you. Although we can't give you a big hug we hope you know we care & will uphold you in our prayers.
Love,
Ed & Barbara Tremain

Stuart was one of the founding members of the "Trail Dawgs", along with Larry, Jack, Gary and us. This was an enjoyable and memorable time for Stuart, as it was for the rest of us. On a bicycle, "Crash McDonald" was known for two things; he always came in last, and for his management of the gates, for which he ultimately gained a great respect. Ron knows that Stuart was always last, because he was always second last. The most enjoyable part of each ride was the "pub stop" which, in the early days, was at the New Limburg Brewery in Nixon, where we sat in easy chairs, enjoyed some Belgian Beer, and solved most of the world's problems. These were great times, enjoyed by all of us. We are privileged to have known him. Stuart was a great guy! Our hearts go out to Helen at this sad time.

We have many memories of Stuart starting with an October Fest patio party when Stuart brought us German beer. During the first book club meeting at David’s, Stuart suggested participants should bring a book of their own choice to share with each other - always trying to expand our horizons. As time went on, we had dinner parties back and forth including church suppers at St. Paul’s. We have fond memories of Helen and Stuart coming with us to a Probus picnic at Burning Kiln Winery where we enjoyed watching them dance. Stuart also was very involved with Dover Coast’s “Greening Our Community”. Helen and Stuart’s love of travel took the four us to SunMed tours to help them plan a trip to Portugal. After that meeting, we enjoyed a meal at Emma’s Back Porch in Burlington, Ontario.
Helen and Stuart enjoyed their Algarve trip and then when COVID broke out, the two of them became the only tourists in that location. We had many calls and emails back and forth as we tried to help them board a return flight to Toronto and it was at that time that Stuart’s first name “Cullen” became a bit of a hurdle as the order of names on his return flight did not match the the order on Stuart’s pass port. Eventually, Stuart and Helen did land safely at Toronto and then were able to be chauffeured safely home. Stuart and Helen looked after our place as we travelled and upon arriving home there was always fresh flowers on our counter along with a Toronto Star. We are truly thankful for both Stuart and Helen’s friendship and the memories we have shared since first meeting them will always be very precious for us.
Affectionately,
Wendy and Gary Cooper
