The immediate family has said our final goodbyes to our beloved “Lil’ Joey Clark from beautiful downtown Port Dover” on Tuesday June 9th. I would like to thank all of Joe’s friends who have known and mostly loved him. I believe we were very fortunate to have shared his space in this world. I was only in Joe’s life during his senior years, certainly not long enough, but it was quite the ride.
The first card Joe gave to me was “I’m Keeping an Eye on You”.... and he did .... even though there were times he was keeping an eye on others...that was Joe, and we all loved him dearly. Till we meet again, my love, Nadiner

Over the years, our family would visit with Joe and Nadine at their home in Scotland as well as their place in Florida. I personally had the pleasure of spending some considerable afternoons observing some quality time with Joe during "cocktail hour". What a hoot! That man could talk! He was sweet, loud and funny! He was not afraid to ask questions. He was generous with his invitations to sit and chat. Getting to know the people in and around his world was important to him. He liked to be surrounded with friends! He could talk baseball to anyone who would listen! Joe and my mother Janet would/could pretty much solve all problems "baseball" if only the league would let them! Joe was a great hugger! He was big and strong and there was no denying his strength. I would talk to Joe about flowers and what he had planned for his Ontario home. The man had a green thumb. He loved his sundeck, back yard and the quiet seclusion Scotland brought to him. He took pride in everything he could grow himself. He and Nadine shared the love of birds and nature and a good BBQ!. They spent many hours sitting in the yard or in the sundeck.. eating, talking, laughing... When I first met Joe he golfed several times a week with his crew. He loved those guys. Don't get me wrong, he complained about them constantly, but he loved them. Arne and I are extremely fond of Joe. We looked forward to all the visits we had. My kids have had their Uncle Joe in their lives since they were born. Joe's door was always open to my family as were his arms.... anytime. I will miss him. His smile, his annoying argumentative side, his hospitality, his generosity and most importantly, his love for my Auntie, Nadine. xoxoxo The Goldthorp's and the Gulstene's

Dear Nadine
I have always felt so fortunate to get to know Joe as a neighbour and friend. We consider you family. Family is not always your blood, but it is who you make it. We were fortunate to get to know Joe for many good years. I will always cherish the memories of chatting with Joe and hearing his stories, drinking wine, and laughing together.
We will continue to offer you support and friendship in the coming months and years. I hope you know you can always count on us. I am so grateful that Joe got to meet Fynn, his little buddy. And I feel sad that he won't get the chance to run over and annoy the crap out of him as he gets older. You were such a dedicated partner to Joe, he was very fortunate to have you by his side for all these years. Lots of Love.
