My sincere condolences go out to Shirley after hearing this sad news. I had the pleasure to sit and talk with Ron on a few occasions and I can't say enough about how much of a gentleman he was. He had a great heart and a sweet soul. Rest peacefully, Ron.

Our condolences to you and your whole family. So sorry I became aware of Ron's passing in a tardy fashion and could not have talked to you in person, perhaps we will meet someday on the street. I really came to know Ron when he drove for the fish company. I can't remember a man who was more a pleasure to talk to and I certainly will miss his elegant smile along with his whole attitude on life itself. When I drove or walked by on Main St. I always looked to see if the garage door was open, if so I would drop in. R.I.P. Ron

My cousin, Ronny, was bigger than life for as long as I can remember. He holds a special place in my earliest memories, especially during our decades of family fun in Port Dover. I was the youngest and he was the rough and tumble big brother I never had. Ronny amazed me with stories of scuba diving and undersea creatures and treasures at a very young age. I couldn't wait to experience the adventures, too, just like him. Shirley, we are so deeply sorry for your loss ❤️

Dear Shirley,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Ron was such a great person. I loved his sense of humour and truly appreciated his dedication to those he cared about. He had the ability to connect to kids and seniors with the same kind of caring.
It's hard to pick my best memory of Ron. The lobster dinner/food fights or when we were up at the cottage in Wasaga Beach with Linda and Tom - freezing our butts off. Ron was throwing Jason and Aaron into the huge snow banks (which Jay could not get enough of). I also recall the first time I went to your back door and was met by Max - another gentle giant.

Ron and I shared much of our youth together, skating on Silver Lake ,catching frogs and turtles at Cedar Swamp and football after school. His parents always had a open house for our bunch.
I was very pleased when Ron and Shirley moved back to the Port Dover area so we could have a few more laughs.

SHirley, just heard from neighbours on Kiwanis about your loss sooo sorry. I will not be able to attend as I am leaving first thing in the am to babysit grandchildren,Walter installed a water softener for you &Ron at your home in Ryerse & he spoke so highly of Ron.

We are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Uncle Ron. He will be greatly missed by us all.
May he be remembered for his many gifts, most significantly knowing how to make us laugh. Among other things we will never forget the nickname - "Turkey" - he gave to us (his nieces) as kids.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Ron .
We met Ron in early 2001 when we moved to Dover and Shirley
was doing the blinds for our house.Don and Ron became instant friends. So many stories to tell, treasures to share ,always happy.
We will miss him waving and blowing his horn on the red truck whenever he went by and also his stop ins .
We are thankful to have known such a sweet, generous man.

Our sincere condolences to Shirley and the rest of the family. We have such great memories of listening to Ron explain the history of Port Dover and Lake Erie.
