Obituary of Delos Neil Porter

PORTER, Delos of Port Dover passed away at Juravinski Hospital surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, July 14, 2017 in his 57th year.  Beloved husband of Laura. Cherished son of Marjorie and the late Douglas. Dearly loved father of Natasha and Phillip Dragstra, Nick Porter, Stacey Porter and Christopher Campbell, Stephanie Porter and Brennan Kovacevich. Loving grandfather to Caleb and Ezra Dragstra. Will be sadly missed by his siblings, Carol Porter, Rick Porter, Cathy and Don Maxwell,  Diane Porter  and his many nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his wife of 20 years  Ann. Loving step-father of Duncan and Sara McLaughlin, Trent Chadwick, Kurt Chadwick and Justin Chadwick. Doting step-grandfather to Bos McLaughlin and Leighton Chadwick. Delos was co-owner of Porter Lumber that was established by his father Douglas and his uncle Neil. He was an avid golfer and coached hockey when his kids were young. Delos will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Delos at visitation Saturday, July 22, 2017, 2 pm to 4 pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519)583-1530, followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel. Pastor Bob Cowling officiating. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a gathering at the Porter residence following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that in memory of Delos you would donate blood or make a monetary donation to Canadian Blood Services.
