Obituary of Allan "Al" Fiddes

~~On Tuesday May 9th Al (Allan) Fiddes in his 89th year. Al is survived by his daughters Sue (John Roberts), Angela (Bud Grabham) and Alison Fiddes. Pre deceased in November 2015 by his son Alan (Eve) in the UK. He will be greatly missed by his 4 grandchildren Lee While, Wes While,  Kristen Fiddes and in the UK Michelle Fiddes.  A true British gent with a wicked sense of humour, Al came to Canada in 1994 to join his daughter Sue and fell in love with Port Dover. He was quickly followed by Angela and Alison. Al spent his working life with the West Hartlepool  Steam  Navigation Company as Chief Marine Engineer. He loved his life in the Merchant Navy and enjoyed telling of  his adventures and escapades on his world travels. He loved to cook and his Pea and Ham soup and curries were second to none. He loved movies and music of all genres. Al was a past member of Port Dover Lions Club.  Cremation has taken place with Thompson Waters Funeral Home handling  the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
