Obituary of Joan Stetson

STETSON, Joan Elizabeth (nee Beairsto) passed away peacefully on Thursday September 8, 2016 at Dover Cliffs LTC in her 84th year. Loving mother of Phil of Courtice, Paul (Sandy) of Peterborough, Vaughan of Port Dover, Lori of Brampton and Terri of Brampton . Dear grandmother of Sonya (Ty), Shawn (Kerry), Matthew (Rachel) and Katie (Ryan). Great- grandmother of Adrianna, Hannah, Noah, Molly and Abigail. Predeceased by her husband Leith (2013), brother Donald and sister-in-law Leila. Joan was deeply involved in the community, a proud member of Grace United Church and the United Church of Canada. Mother to many in the community she was affectionately known as the card lady, a member of UCW, Joan's supper club and participated at Ryerson Beach Camp and Quin-Mo-Lac. Joan will be remembered for the hugs she gave freely and her warm smile. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joan with family on Sunday September 11, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm and Monday September 12, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave Port Dover (519)-583-1530. A Service to Celebrate Joan's life will be held at Grace United Church (Chapman and St. George Sts.) Port Dover, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2pm. Reverend Jeff Smith officiating.
