There will never be enough words to describe how wonderful a person that Rodney was. He always had something interesting and wonderful to say about everyone. He loved life and enjoyed everything about it. He lead such an interesting life through out his years and enjoyed telling anyone who was interested to listen of his stories. That saying, he still had his views about people and politics and he wasn't afraid to voice his opinions. He loved to talk about his memories of growing up in South Africa with his mom, dad and family; every member of his family. He had such interesting stories to tell. He was always happy to see you. He loved living in Port Dover with Aunt Linda and being by water, watching the ships, boats and freighters travelling in and out of Lake Erie, as well as walking along the shore to collect interesting driftwood, rocks and whatever Aunt Linda could use in her projects as well as his. He was always feeding the birds. Planting his plants in the spring, and watching his garden grow, his dahlias, roses and Canna lilies gave him wonderful pleasure and enjoyment. He loved his daughter and was always talking about her and her accomplishments. He will always be someone that I remember with wonderful memories. The times that I was able to spend with him will be a treasure to me because of how he made me feel as a person and look at life. He will be missed but not forgotten because of the wonderful person that he was.

We offer our sincere condolences on Rodney's passing. We have had the opportunity to meet Rodney through the Monson family. Many times throughout the years we would have conversed with Rodney, at various family gatherings. It was clearly evident how much love flowed between family and friends at those celebrations. We feel blessed to have witnessed the light and love that Rodney brought to his family. May God keep your hearts shining bright with beautiful memories of him.

R.I.P Ron, Linda and family, words fall short of expressing my sorrow for the loss. When someone you love becomes memory, the memory becomes a treasure.Ron was someone so special to me, because we always talked about how we deal with a situation in African way and how slow we talk with big smile in our faces. Someone so special can never be forgotten. You are gone from my sight, but never from my heart. You always reminded me where we come from.My prayers are with you Linda

Dear Uncle Rod, I still wanted to discuss 1) the passing of boxing great 'Ali,' or 2) the Beatles 'Magical Mystery Tour' LP you bought me in the early 1970's or 3) the fact that I am your eldest nephew who turned 58 just yesterday (June 22nd), because what I learned from you, is that I COULD DISCUSS ANYTHING WITH YOU. We miss you already Uncle Rod! Love Phillip
