Obituary of Bert Dougherty

DOUGHERTY, William "Bert" passed away peacefully on Tuesday October, 13, 2015 at Brantford General Hospital in his 86th year. Loving husband of Mary, dear father of Doug of Winnipeg, Kevin (Michelle) of Stratford, Gary (Stephanie) of Woodstock, Rosanne (Jerry) Atkinson of Port Ryerse, Sherry (Peter Fairchild) Viveen of Brantford, Lori (Scotty) Rainey of Brantford and Barb (Lestrade George) Dougherty of Montreal. Proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 9 great- grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his brother-in law Gord Parrington. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Rhea, siblings Harold (Dot), Sid (Doris), Bob, Alan (Irene), Lawrence, Vi (Gord) Ryerse, Rhea (Jim) Caley, Sadie (Gord) Quick, Thelma (Ed) Tisdale, Doris Parrington, Dorcas and daughter-in-law Judy. Bert took great pride in being a farmer, tending to his cows and horses and enjoyed gardening as well. Friends are invited to share their memories with family on Friday October 16, 2015 from 7pm to 9pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave. Port Dover (519)-583-1530. A Funeral Service will be held in memory of Bert on Saturday October 17, 2015 at 11am at the funeral home Chapel. Interment at Port Dover Cemetery.
