Rick and I started emailing about a year ago. We had not had contact for a few years but being cousins it wasn't hard to find things to talk about. I had quotes that I thought he might find helpful through his journey. He sent back better ones by far. I kept asking where he got them from. He wouldn't reveal his source. When we saw each other last I asked him again and he just grinned that grin. Got it ought of him! It is something I will always remember. No matter how bad he was feeling, he always wanted to know how my family was. He will be missed. Our condolences to Aunt Linda, Uncle Jack, Mark, Allison and families. Also to Shelley, his earth angel.

I would like to send my sincere condolences to all of Ricks family. I also met Rick one year ago today and have had many a visits with him. I was honoured when after a few visits he was referring to me Bro and at the end of every visit we would end with Love Ya Bro.His smile always lit up the room. He was very caring and had a huge heart. Your kind and gentle ways will reward you on your next journey.Miss ya Bro,till we meet again.

I was privileged to meet Rick exactly one year ago today. I've had the honour of spending many hours with this gentle soft-spoken man discussing his deepest fears, his challenges, his admissions of guilt, his embarrassments, his pain, disappointments and anger. We talked about God, about love, and about his impending death. Though definitely stubborn, he was proud, generous, gentle, caring, loving and beautiful! He had a great capacity for love, but an even greater capacity for forgiveness. He taught me so much. He was an absolute joy to know! My sincere condolences to Shelley and his family. Rick...I hope you are experiencing the peace and euphoria you so richly deserve. I'm so proud of you. Be still my friend.
