Obituary of VERNA WATKINSON

WATKINSON, Verna Marie (nee Fritsley) passed away peacefully on Thursday July 2, 2015 at Dover Cliffs LTC in her 90th year. Loving mother of Richard (Jo-Anne) of Belleville, dear grandmother of Charles, Matthew, Lauren, Julie, Katye, Rebeka and Amanda. Great-grandmother of Sophie and Andrew. Fondly remembered by her sister Rita Hruden of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Predeceased by daughters Raye Ellen and Robin, brothers William, Jack and brother-in-law Walter Hruden. Verna had a passion for theatre and was an accomplished dancer who taught ballroom, as well as graced the stage in several local productions. She graduated from Mohawk College in Equestrian Studies and spent some enjoyable years running Doverston Stables and caring for her prized horses. Verna was an avid card player and enjoyed weekly gatherings with her friends at the Legion. She loved her family and the beautiful town she called home. In keeping with Verna's wishes there will be a private gathering. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave Port Dover (519)-583-1530.
