Obituary of LAIRD MASON

MASON, Laird Ian passed away peacefully after a brief illness December 2, 2013 at Norfolk General Hospital Simcoe in his 86th year. Laird is survived by his loving daughter Cheryl Copeman, and precious grandchildren Alexis and Lee. Brother and brother-in-law to Ora (Annie) Mason of Port Dover and Muriel Birdsell of Renton. Laird is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Doris, son Michael, brothers-in-law John Murphy and Wilf Birdsell, sister-in-law Edith Murphy and son-in-law Dick Copeman. Laird was best known as the local plumber plying his trade for over 40 years in the area before handing the reigns of the business over to his son-in-law Dick. Former president of the Port Dover Lions Club and member of the I.O.O.F. for over 60 years. Laird will be remembered by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held at the Port Dover Cemetery Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10am, with all family and friends invited to attend. Reverend Frank Walker officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave. Port Dover (519) 583-1530.
